Michael Hade (Andrew Ramaglia) is a fisherman living and working in the Pacific Northwest with his wife Sara (Emily Cline) and their young son Jack (P.J. Caniff). Michael has been having a hard time getting work and he's developed a serious drinking problem, while Sara, who is studying to become a nurse, is becoming increasingly frustrated with their relationship and has been spending time with one of her former boyfriends. Michael and Sara have both been paying less attention to Jack, and their relationship hits bottom after the boy dies in a drowning incident in the bathtub.
